Claude Koestner
Chief Operating Officer of CIC
Claude Koestner joined Crédit Industriel et Commercial in 1996, where he began his career as a retail bank manager. He was subsequently appointed corporate branch manager at Crédit Industriel d’Alsace et de Lorraine, responsible for large corporates.
Between 2016 and 2020, he was Chief Executive Officer of CIC Est, a regional retail bank that covers 17 departments in eastern France. In parallel with this, in 2017 he was also named Deputy Chief Executive Officer of CIC.
Mr Koestner took over as Chairman of the Executive Board of Banque Européenne du Crédit Mutuel in 2020.
In January 2024, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer of CIC, responsible for the network activities, retail banking and the five regional banks (CIC Nord Ouest, CIC Ouest, CIC Est, CIC Sud Ouest and CIC Lyonnaise de Banque).
He will become Chief Executive Officer upon completion of the project currently being reviewed in relation to corporate banking, which is expected to take place no later than the first half of 2025.
